Our story

We are passionate about bringing the transformational power of the Gospel to teens across Africa. We introduce young people in Africa to Jesus and help them grow to be multiplying, disciple-making leaders for the Kingdom.

Over 1 million kids will hear a clear presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our fundamental principles

Discipleship

We make disciples…one kid at a time. Each leader mentors and disciples three kids on their leadership tree.
Message

We are committed to the message of grace, hope and salvation in Jesus Christ in all we are and all we do.
Leadership

We are committed to raising up and training indigenous leadership in every African country.
Church

We are committed to supporting the local church to build and encourage the body of Christ in each country.
Partnership

We rely on a strong interdependent partnership – sharing gifts and resources – between Young Life in Africa and the U.S.

Young Life recently celebrated its 81st year and Young Life Africa entered its 21st year as a division. We started in one country, in one city with five clubs. Today we touch 28 countries with over 3,000 ministries in total.
