Elias currently serves on the Ethiopian Young Life staff as the Logistics Coordinator. He enjoys this role because he knows he is supporting the ministry in Ethiopia by acting as the backbone. His responsibilities include organizing transportation for people and equipment as well as hosting Young Life Expeditions teams.
Growing up, Elias’ mother had a big impact on his faith as she is a strong Christian. However, Elias grew much deeper in his faith when he started going to Young Life in high school, but he only began attending Club when a girl who he was interested in invited him to come with her. That girl is now Elias’ wife and they have one son, Christian.
As Elias became deeply involved in Young Life while in high school and matured in his walk with the Lord, he was invited to participate in the Developing Global Leaders (DGL) program. The DGL program is an opportunity for selected students to gain a university education while they learn from a mentor and serve as a volunteer leader in a local Young Life Club. Due to Elias’ completion of the DGL program and his servant’s heart, Moges, the regional director for Young Life in the Horn of Africa, asked him to become the Logistics Coordinator for Ethiopia.
