Mary’s friends describe her as extremely social and kind. She is an incredibly hardworking mother and is a beautiful demonstration of Christ’s love for her children. Mary’s dad was an elder in the Anglican Church, so she grew up surrounded by Christianity. She would read and memorize scripture in order to be able to answer her Dad’s questions about the Bible but never felt as though she had a personal relationship with Jesus. It wasn’t until she was a bit older that she came to grips with the idea that in order to go to heaven she must receive and accept Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Soon after this realization, during a church sermon she answered an altar call and confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
In 2010, she was invited to speak at a Young Life event for teen mothers. After this experience, she was so touched by the other girl’s stories and was filled with compassion to walk alongside them. In their desperate situations, they had hope in life and she decided to continue in relationship with these girls. We are thankful for Catherine’s love for Jesus and passion to demonstrate that love to teen moms and children in her country.
