Young Life in Ethiopia is huge – second only to the US in numbers of kids reached. In order for this to happen, Young Life relies on faithful and committed servants to join in this mission and take on a full-time staff position. Tewodros Seife, lovingly referred to by his friends as Teddy, is one of those faithful. He loves God and loves people, and is an incredibly hard worker.
Teddy met the Lord through his older sister in 2000, and has not looked back since. During his involvement in youth group, Teddy met Young Life staff Fireselam. They quickly became friends, and Fireselam invited him to check out a Young Life club. Instantly falling in love with the club and the kids present, Teddy joined Young Life in 2004 and was quickly placed on staff. He recently moved to the city of Hawassa to start Young Life there, and is far from his family and friends. Yet he is faithful to God’s calling and is looking forward to furthering His Kingdom in this new place. As an area director over the past four years he has progressed to take on regional director responsibilities in his area, overseeing 10 towns with 18 clubs. Ministry is growing exponentially with 90 new volunteer leaders starting just this year along with a new sports ministry and the hope of starting a prison club.
