Young Life Morocco

Beginning in 2011, Young Life Morocco has seen incredible growth and has expanded ministry to not only high school students, but also special needs and college kids. Dan Barnett, who has been on Young Life staff for over 20 years, moved with his wife Stephanie and their family to Fes, Morocco in 2011 to begin Young Life in Morocco. During that first year, the Barnett family worked on assimilating into Moroccan culture and began contact work with high school kids. In 2012, Dan recruited his first volunteer leaders and began inviting kids to club and to the first African Surf Camp, which has become a tradition in Morocco. Young Life Morocco also hosted a day camp in 2015 for girls who reside in a detention center. In addition to camp, Young Life leaders host weekly Young Life club on the roof of Dan's house. All of these are used a platform to share the love and truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Five hundred kids have been reached through Young Life Morocco, a testament to God's goodness even in a place in which the name of Jesus is hardly known. Now Yassine Mounire has stepped into leadership, serving as the Young Life Area Director in Fes and proclaiming the gospel to the lost Muslims of Morocco.
