Chimwemwe Siyabu

Executive Admin for Young Life Africa/Middle East

Chimwemwe Siyabu (“Chim”) moved from Lilongwe, Malawi to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to become the divisional executive administrator for Young Life Africa/Middle East.

She helped pioneer the role of logistics coordinator/administrator while working with Young Life Malawi. Chim is a faithful, steady and empathetic listener. She gave her life to Christ when she was 16, a day before her mother passed away. Her older brother had invited her to a youth conference and while they were attending the conference, their mother died. From that point, Chim realized that all she had was Jesus and understood what it meant to be adopted by him. She learned about Young Life in Malawi eight years ago through an amazing man named Lusayo Mhango, who she was dating at the time and later married. Chim was a volunteer leader, supported Lusayo as he was building and growing the ministry in Blantyre and then became the Young Life Malawi Administrator. She handled planning, logistics and organization of all ministry activities including Development Global Leaders. She also mentored female Young Life leaders and encouraged them to remain committed to the ministry. Chim led a Bible study group for young women at her church as well. Chimwemwe has been courageous and strong as she’s modeled walking by faith and not by sight since December 2013 when her husband Lusayo was tragically killed in an automobile accident, along with two other Young Life Malawi heroes Wanangwa Sangwa and Sarah Adams. She is a servant leader and lives out Jesus’ love daily.
