Sylvia was raised in a Christian home where living for Christ was the order of the day, and baptizing was done at a younger age. Sylvia and Mama Yao were teaching in the same grammar school, and Mama Yao was her mentor. Mama Yao saw the ways Sylvia could mentor other kids and introduced Young Life to her with the hope of casting the vision of leadership to her. Sylvia grasped the vision and became a volunteer leader; within no time she had proven to be even more than what Mama Yao thought of. Sylvia is and area director in Abidjinand is helping to reach the ministry in every corner of Cote d’Ivoire.
