George Kamau – Kenya

Area Director

George was brought up in the church and often attended youth group. In 2003, a church retreat in Kisumu transformed George’s life when he gave his life to Christ. He became a youth leader and helped shape youth retreats, seminars, and vigils. Knowing his passion for youth ministry, a friend of his invited him to a training for Young Life leaders where he learned about the mission and vision of Young Life. He joined the ministry shortly after. Today, George is an area director in Ruiru, Kenya, a small industrial town, close to the capital city of Nairobi. Most young people in this area experience drug and substance abuse, alcoholism, rebelliousness, and illiteracy. George oversees neighborhood, high school, and Wyldlife clubs and a YoungLives club.
