Moses Kissingi – Tanzania

Moses grew up in a rural village in northern Tanzania. Moses characterizes his childhood family life as “simple but complicated” mostly because his father had nine wives. His mom left their family after the second of his two older brothers died in 1986. In 2006, after a childhood with no spiritual direction, a Young Life leader Deo approached Moses and befriended him. At first Moses was wary of Deo, but Deo pursued him as a friend and in 2007 introduced Moses to Jesus. Moses now serves as a regional director in Dar Es Salaam where he oversees Young Life clubs in six different locations.
