Richard Odongo – Kenya

Richard was baptized as a child and considered himself a Christian. However, he never understood that Jesus wanted a personal relationship with him. Later, while Richard was leading youth in his church, a man named Martin noticed his leadership skills. At the time, Martin was a national youth coordinator and offered to train Richard to further his leadership abilities. When Young Life started in Richard’s area, Martin encouraged him to check it out. Richard was amazed at the joy and love he experienced. He realized he had been missing out on a relationship with Jesus and decided to start following Him on a personal level. Richard knew this was where he belonged. Richard has served in many roles within Young Life, and today he is the regional director for Young Life in Western Kenya.
