Area Director

Simon was raised in a strong, Christian family, and learned to love, respect and worship God from a young age. Simon first heard about Young Life through getting to know Matilda, as they attended the same church together. Upon hearing about it, he knew that was where God was calling him. Today, Simon serves as area director in Mainland West alongside his wife, Belindah, and two kids. With five slums surrounding this area, most teens are faced with poverty, drug abuse, single parenting, peer pressure, prostitution, child labor and HIV/AIDS exposure. Furthermore, it is a heavily populated area and much of the community does not support Young Life. Despite these great challenges, Simon is faithful and steadfast in his ministry. When he hears his teenage friends say “yes” to Jesus, he knows that all the challenges he faces are worth it.
