Mupenda – nicknamed Soleil – became a Christian through Young Life, accepting Christ during the gospel message given at a camp. Before Soleil became a Christian, he was using drugs and alcohol, fighting other men and was far from the wisdom and love he now has. During that time, Young Life was just beginning in DRC, and after maturing in his faith, Soleil attended a local training to become a Young Life leader. Today, he oversees WyldLife across the DRC. Many of his friends (including the men he used to fight with) have also accepted Jesus and serve as volunteer leaders in Young Life. He praises God for the encouraging community around him.
