Pray With Us: Global Day Of Prayer

Welcome to our 2023 Global Day Of Prayer, here are some of the ways you could join us in prayer today. For more prayer resources visit the Day Of Prayer website.

We are praying for the start of the new ministry year, and we ask God to bless us with strength and wisdom for all those who are leading on all levels. We are also praying for God to give us devoted leaders for the start of Capernaum and University Young Life which are starting in October.

We are praying for the school year that just started. Our goals for the year are to grow our number of leaders by 50%, and the number of Campaigners we have from 1,560 to 2,500. We are praying for the health of our staff, leaders, and their families as we start this new school year.

We are celebrating the more than 43 ministries and more than 200 volunteer leaders we have in our Young Life Eswatini mission. We are thankful for what the Lord has done and we pray for revival and reaching teenagers with the gospel. Pray for discernment and wisdom for our leadership team as they make decisions on how to move the ministry forward.

We are praying for our DGL student Albert who lost his mother; we pray God will comfort him and his family. We are also praying for our ministry among the unreached people group called the Batwa community, we pray that God will open the door for us to reach them with the gospel.

We are praying for the new clubs that are developing in Kinshasa, North Kivu, South Kivu, and Lubumbashi, particularly for the start of Capernaum and YoungLives ministry in these areas. We pray that God will be with Benjamin, a volunteer leader from Goma, whose mother passed away, and his family.

South Africa

We are praying for wisdom as we are reshaping our internal ministry structures so that we can serve one another well. As we pray for these changes we are asking God to give our leaders a deeper connection to the Holy Spirit. We are also praying for the improved health of our leaders Pierre and Rentia.

We are praying for the new ministry in Hargessa to experience steady growth and thrive and for the expansion and progress of the ministry in the Gambella region and Asebe Teferi, located 350 kilometers from Addis Ababa. Together let us intercede for the leaders and ministry stability in Bahir Dar and Gonder, especially during this period of political unrest. We also pray for the successful implementation of VOLTS (Volunteer Leadership Training and Sending) across the country to attract more dedicated volunteer leaders and enable outreach to more villages and towns. Finally, let’s pray for the establishment and expansion of Teen Mom, Capernaum, and College ministries in various parts of the country, so that they may positively impact the lives of young people.

We are praying for continued ministry development and growth in the Western, Central, and Coastal Kenya regions. We are also praying for the successful implementation of the VOLTS initiative, with a specific emphasis on recruiting and retaining well-trained leaders. Let us pray for the continued spiritual growth of all Campaigners in their journey with Jesus, and for volunteer leaders to find peace of mind and heart and maintain their joyful commitment to serving. Pray with us as we also seek more prayer partners and supporters to join us in our ministry efforts.

South Sudan

We are praying for the establishment and growth of our ministry in newly reached areas. We pray for the successful initial training of the two individuals contacted in Upper Nile State and Northern Bahr El Ghazel State. We also pray for the smooth and effective preparations for hosting the first East Meeting in Juba.

We are praying for the ministries, volunteer leaders, staff, club kids, and campaigners in Uganda. We also pray for the successful implementation of the ongoing PALM (Prayer Partners and Alumni listed for Ministry support) initiative throughout the country and for the newly commissioned leaders as they embark on their ministry journeys in various areas. We pray for the health and well-being of all leaders and their families. Together, let us also pray for Tuhaise Clofas, who recently lost her father, that she finds comfort and strength during this challenging time and that her studies remain unaffected by her father’s passing.
