YoungLives supports pregnant and parenting teen moms and dads through mentorship, community, and by sharing a hope-filled life with Christ. Leaders aim to teach young mothers and fathers about God’s love and to equip them with both life skills and ways to connect and play with their babies.
“We’re not just helping teen moms survive,
we’re helping them rise.”
— YoungLives Leader, Zimbabwe
Across Africa, thousands of girls become mothers before they reach adulthood—many as young as 14. Rejected by families, expelled from schools, and often pushed to the edges of their communities, teen moms are left without support, direction, or hope.
YoungLives exists to change that.
As a ministry of Young Life, YoungLives Africa walks alongside teenage mothers, helping them grow in their faith, life, and leadership. Through trusted mentors, safe spaces, and the love of Jesus, teen moms and dads discover they are not forgotten. They are strong. They belong.
From club nights in the slums of Nairobi, to camps in Sierra Leone, to discipleship groups in West Africa, YoungLives is reaching over 25,000 teen moms across 27 countries, empowering them to return to school, rebuild relationships, and become mentors to others.
“Mentors are like friends. Sisters. Confidants.
People who journey with them in life and faith.”
— YoungLives Mentor, Sierra Leone
“My prayer is to see them growing in Jesus,
growing in their lives, and growing in their leadership.”
— YoungLives Mentor, Zimbabwe
