Amaku Jackson* – Uganda

Amaku first began a relationship with Jesus Christ while at a youth camp. He remembers the ways the camp speaker challenged the teens there and it led Amaku to evaluate his lifestyle and saw that it was taking him in the wrong direction in life. He now clings to the joy and hope of Jesus to lead his paths. In 2014, his friend Erick shared about the mission and vision of Young Life and invited him to get involved as a leader. Amaku immediately went through training and started as a leader. Today Amaku is an area director in Northern Uganda, where over 85% of the population is Muslim.
