Aissata Deborah Samaké – Mali

Vice President-Francophone Geography | Africa West

Deborah grew up in a Muslim family, however she faced hardship as her mother came to know Christ which resulted in her father angrily divorcing her.  Deborah’s mother moved to the U.S. and eventually married again while Deborah had to stay with her father. Deborah’s mother and stepfather moved back to share the Gospel in Mali. One day Deborah went to hear her stepfather preach and she left a changed person, who knew Jesus Christ as her savior. Her journey with Young Life started when she was invited to attend a leadership training in 2009. This lead to Deborah starting the first Young Life club in Bamako, Mali and today she serves as the Vice President for the Francophone Geography for Young Life Africa West.
