Dennis Okurboth* – Uganda

As a teen, Dennis allowed partying and drinking to define his life. When he learned about Young Life, he was working as a police officer. In 2014, a leader named Stella invited police officers in her town to attend a Young Life camp. During the week, when Dennis heard the message from the speaker, he started to evaluate his life. The words spoken touched his heart, and he knew something had to change. Dennis ultimately left the police force in order to pursue lost teenagers for Christ. Dennis continues to be a committed leader and man of God. He is now an area director in northern Uganda and is passionate about showing Christ’s love to his family and friends.
