Evariste Kalisa – Rwanda

When he was younger, Evariste’s thoughts kept him up late at night. He was worried about his future and where he would go when he died. The unknown scared him, but he had heard about the salvation Jesus offers. His friend was a Christian, so he asked him to pray for his salvation, which changed the rest of his life. His journey of faith in Jesus started that day.

He joined a local church and developed a passion for teaching kids at the churches’ Sunday school. A Young Life leader in his town saw his love for young people, so he invited Evariste to learn more about Young Life. It was a perfect fit. Now, Evariste is a Young Life area director for a new area in Rubavu District.
