Florence Oluka – Uganda

Area Director

As a teenager, drinking and partying overtook Florence’s life. She thought that the sinful things she did pulled her away from any relationship with Jesus. At a soccer competition in high school, she met Augustine, a leader, who shared with teenagers about Young Life. What he shared intrigued Florence, and she signed up for Young Life camp. After hearing the speaker at camp talk about God’s love for her, she accepted Jesus into her life and started a relationship with Him. Today, Florence is an area director in Kampala, Uganda; she has recently started a new Young Life ministry of sharing the gospel with teenagers with cancer. As she works with kids in tough situations, Florence is honored to share how to love God despite earthly trials.
