Germaine Mapenzi Badesire

Area Director

Germaine’s relationship with Jesus began at age 10 in a Catholic Christian home. She was introduced to Young Life through a local club and, inspired by the message and community, became a leader in October 2014. Based in Nyiragongo, North Kivu, a region marked by ongoing conflict, Germaine has demonstrated unwavering commitment to youth ministry. Under her leadership as an area director, the area grew to 19 clubs, 126 leaders, and regularly served over 900 young people. Despite current instability, Germaine remains steadfast in supporting her community with faith, courage, and hope for lasting peace.
