Henry came to know Jesus while attending a Christian crusade in a village near his home in 1998. He heard the good news of Jesus, felt convicted in his heart to know more of it, and surrendered his life to God. In 2010, Henry heard about Young Life from Dominic, a high school student that he knew at the time. Dominic had just come back from a weekend at Young Life camp in Mombasa, and couldn’t wait to tell Henry about what he had experienced. When Henry saw the ways Young Life impacted his young friend, he wanted to get involved in the mission too. Henry is now the area director in Malava community in Western Kenya. Parents, neighbors, and even the local authorities have embraced Young Life because they notice the impact of the teen’s behavior changes after becoming a part of it.
