James learned about Young Life through Simon Peter Okiria, his mentor and the one who introduced him to the Lord. James’ Young Life ministry began with the high school and neighborhood ministry in Eastern Uganda. Seeing kids having fun and giving their lives to Jesus encouraged James. After starting university in 2009, James felt called to start college ministry there. He then expanded the ministry into other colleges, and because of his efforts, Young Life is now in 16 colleges in Uganda. He continues to see God move at college camps where many students have accepted Jesus as their Savior. James is now an area director in Kampala, Uganda where he oversees many volunteer leaders, including Developing Global Leader (DGL) students who are advancing the kingdom through Young Life college ministry.
