Joseph Ongoiba is the second to last child of his family with two brothers and sisters. His mother died when he was 17. He has been married to the love of his life, Noëlle Ongoiba, since 2009. He grew up in a Christian family that held very conservative Christian values. So he had never fully experienced the freedom in Christ. Joseph accepted Jesus at a young age and was baptized at the age of 17. Since then, he held several church responsibilities. Those included; youth treasurer, local Koro Bible group coordinator and singing in the local church choir for 5 years (which he is still currently doing). “I was a member of navigators in Bamako. I am also a member of the local Evangelism team. After studying quantitative and qualitative economic policy analysis at the University of Bamako, I started teaching at Koro high school as the senior professor of financial mathematics,” Joseph shared. After being introduced to Young Life in 2014, his spiritual life has grown rapidly. He is currently the zone director of Young Life in Koro which serves more than ten clubs and 25 leaders in over ten villages. He expressed, “God will still do great things through me. May he bless this ministry.”
