Mikiyas met the Lord through Young Life. He grew up in the Orthodox faith and was a difficult child. When he was in the eighth grade, some friends invited him to a Young Life club. He then had the opportunity to experience camp. When he heard the word of God there, he started asking questions. The message of Isaiah 53 made him feel peace inside. With the leaders’ help, he accepted the Lord as his personal savior. He was later baptized and told his leader that he wanted to witness others hearing the gospel. He trained to become a leader and began serving Young Life. Today, Mikiyas is an area director in charge of six ministries and over 26 volunteer leaders — all who reach teenagers with the gospel of Jesus.
