Mugote Bisimwa – DRC

Area Director

Mugote was born in a polygamous family; his mom was one of three wives. He took over care of his three younger brothers at age ten, when his parents left him behind as they fled the war. The boys were forced to serve in the revolution’s armed forces. Although life was so difficult, Mugote proclaims that God still felt close to him. He met Jesus at Young Life camp in 2007 and began volunteering as a leader the next year. He recently transitioned to be the area director in Kindu, an area where young people are in desperate need of a savior. He holds Philippians 4:12-13 close: “I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.”
