Patrick Okaali* – Uganda

Area Director

Raised in a Christian home, Patrick was a difficult child. He dropped out of school and joined a rough group. One night they decided to beat up another teenage boy for no reason. The boy pleaded with the gang of boys to spare him, and Patrick convinced his friends to let him go. The next day, that same boy found Patrick and invited him to Young Life. Patrick kept going to club every Sunday evening for fun. He then went to Young Life camp where he encountered Jesus and felt the desire to lead his friends to Jesus too. The next time they had camp, he brought 13 friends, nine of whom gave their lives to Jesus Christ. This fueled him to start Young Life club in his own neighborhood. Patrick continues to witness God’s grace as he mentors many Young Life leaders and has started new clubs in several more areas as area director in eastern Uganda.
