Veronica Wamwandu* – Tanzania

Area Director

Veronica leads teenagers in Mwanza, Tanzania, where she is particularly passionate about mentoring teen moms. Growing up with her late grandmother who was an obedient prayer warrior, Veronica learned about the power of prayer from her, as well the deep love of Jesus. Because of her grandmother’s faithfulness, she grew up in the ways of the LORD. Her first experience with Young Life was through her friend Matilda, then the area director in Mombasa, Kenya. Matilda invited Veronica to a leadership meeting, which she really enjoyed. In 2007, she went to Nairobi to be trained by James, Martin, Alexis, and Papa Deo. This training furthered her passion for reaching teenagers with the gospel. She currently does Young Life in Mwanza, Tanzania, and is the coordinator for YoungLives in Tanzania.
