A Glimmer of Hope-Malawi

In the small village of Bisoro, Stephanie’s life unfolded against the backdrop of tradition and societal expectations. Born into a family of nine children, she faced the challenges that came with being one of many siblings. As she navigated the intricacies of village life, little did she know that her journey would take an unexpected turn. Stephanie’s dreams of education and a bright future were disrupted when she found herself pregnant. As a result, her family cast her aside. 

Even in her isolation and despair, a glimmer of hope appeared in the form of Francine, a Young Life leader from Bisoro. When Francine heard Stephanie’s story, she responded with empathy and understanding. Stephanie was astounded to find someone who listened to understand. Francine introduced Stephanie to the gospel. In Christ, Stephanie discovered a new family. The welcome she received at club made her start going regularly, and Young Life became a safe place for her. 

When she got to go to camp, she got a deeper understanding of the love that God has for her. She was able to release the shame that she felt. Stephanie now walks in the truth of God’s love for her.
