Yasin’s Camp Story-Malawi
August 2022
This is what Yasin, an 18-year-old student, shared just after Young Life camp in Zomba, Malawi. Yasin comes from a Muslim family and this was his first time hearing about Jesus.
“Today was the greatest day of my life. I have been on many trips but this one was unique. The people were friendly, the food was great, and we had a lot of fun. Most importantly, the story that was shared about Zacchaeus was life-changing. He was very desperate to see Jesus and then he was saved and his sins were forgiven. Just like that. I want to know more about Jesus who forgives without conditions. I would say my life is just like Zacchaeus, because back home I steal from my friends at school and do other bad things but I just want to start a new life and leave all these things behind. Coming here has helped me to think deeply about my life and I’m happy that I’m going home a changed person. I want to know more and more about Jesus and be with him.”
