Umar is a young man in secondary school in Dakar, Senegal. He was born to a Muslim mother and father, but is estranged from them and lives with his aunt. He befriended a group who is known to be the wrong crowd ». In 2015 Umar met Daniel, a local Young Life leader. Daniel built a friendship with Umar and invited him to Young Life club. After a year of being actively involved in his local Young Life club, Umar was able to attend a sports camp in August 2016. At the sports camp, Umar recognized that Jesus died for him. Umar made a decision to live his life for God and to change the way he lives his life.
