Sierra Leone Outreach Camp
June 14-16, 2019
An amazing group of 170 kids attended camp in Magburaka, a city in the northern province of Sierra Leone. The kids had a great time playing crazy games and singing fun songs, but the best part of camp by far were the club talks. During the club talks, kids heard the gospel told in a simple, clear way – many of them heard this powerful story for the first time!
Fatima was a camper who had heard the gospel and been to church, but Christianity was not a big part of her or her family’s life. She had spent the past three years rebelling against her parents, even to the point of not speaking to her mother for six months. After she was connected to Young Life through a local leader in her community, she began seeking reconciliation with her family. With the help of her Young Life leader, she is now at peace with her mom. “I thank God for His intervention in my life…I promise to serve Jesus,” Fatima said at the end of camp. Join us in praying for God’s continuous intervention in lives, and in praising God for the 148 commitments made to Jesus through this camp!
