Jean Bosco Abarikumwe – Rwanda

Area Director

Jean was raised in a family with 18 siblings. With this many children, it was easy to be overlooked. Although many of his sisters were believers, Jean went to church only because he had to. He even got baptized before having a relationship with Jesus. One of his sisters was involved with Young Life, and she introduced Jean to a leader. It was at Young Life that he finally understood the power of the gospel, and in 2011, he asked Jesus into his life. Jesus radically changed the trajectory of Jean’s life and after spending time in Young Life, he was invited to go to college through the Developing Global Leaders program. After graduating, Jean came on staff with Young Life as an area director in Kirehe, Rwanda. Jean’s ministry is rooted in prayer which is displayed by his passion and commitment.
