In 2007, a friend of Safari’s invited him to camp. The humor and games, as well as a space to showcase his acting, drew him in. The leaders’ seriousness, attention, and love for Jesus impressed Safari. During a training in 2008, he felt a call to serve Christ and accepted Him as his Savior. Safari immersed himself in Young Life and realized his calling when he brought 12 teens to camp in 2009. He was invited to be a part of the Developing Global Leaders program, and Safari led ministries in Lubumbashi while attending university. He has grown that one neighborhood club to 19 clubs and 114 volunteer leaders, including five YoungLives! Safari is now developing a new area that has four clubs and 31 leaders, and looks forward to reaching more and more teens with the gospel.
