James Mungai Kamau – Africa West

James “Mungai” Kamau is the new vice president of Africa West. Mungai has served with Young Life since 2005. He is a strong leader of leaders, a gifted speaker and program leader. Mungai is outgoing, organized and has a magnetic personality. He loves Jesus and his Young Life kids and leaders whole-heartedly.

Mungai is the former senior regional director of Tanzania, Zanzibar and DR Congo.  Prior to that, he was a regional director in the eastern part of Kenya where he had been involved in Young Life for over eleven years. A close friend of Martin Simiyu Wamalwa, they both were introduced to Young Life around the same time and have been co-leading the charge to reach more kids for Jesus in Africa ever since.
