James Mungai Kamau – Africa West
Senior Vice President, Africa West
James Mungai Kamau is the senior vice president of Africa West. Mungai has served with Young Life since 2005. He is a strong leader of leaders, a gifted speaker and program leader. Mungai is outgoing, organized and has a magnetic personality. He loves Jesus, his Young Life kids, and leaders whole-heartedly.
Formerly senior regional director of Tanzania, Zanzibar and DR Congo, Mungai has recently moved across the continent to Ghana to lead Africa West. Prior to that, he was a regional director in the eastern part of Kenya where he had been involved in Young Life for over eleven years. A close friend of Martin Wamalwa, senior vice president of Africa East, they were both introduced to Young Life at the same time and have been leading the charge to reach more kids for Jesus in Africa ever since.
