Limukani Sibanda – Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe South Regional Director
Limukani Sibanda was born in the Matopo Hills area in south Zimbabwe, and is an associate regional director who is currently serving in the western-central region of Zimbabwe. He is a loving, social, compassionate leader. Lims, as he is called for short, was first introduced to Young Life in 2008 when he served as the translator to a Young Life staff member named Pierre, who is now serving in South Africa. In 2009, while living in the Matopos village area (southern Zimbabwe), Pierre introduced Lims to Patson, a teacher in the local Mission School, who soon began to disciple Lims and raise him up as a Young Life leader. During this time, Lims and Patson would walk the 10-kilometer journey just to do contact work and club. Lims is a graduate of the Developing Global Leaders program, which led him to the town of Gwana. He was an instrumental part of starting Young Life in that town.
In 2014, Lims joined Young Life staff full-time, started Young Life in a town called Tsolotsho, and now does ministry in Victoria Falls with his new bride Lindokuhle. Lims is known as a great initiator, recruiter and equipper, as he has a huge heart for the youth of Zimbabwe and disciples many young men who are starting their ministries in the Young Life community. Currently, he and his faithful team of volunteer leaders are growing Young Life ministries in four main areas – hosting seven clubs weekly and looking to expand. He has a true pioneering spirit and is bold and faithful. He always considers each step with prayer and listens to the Lord’s direction without apology.
