“Mama” Edda Mdemu – Tanzania

“Mama” Edda Mdemu loves Jesus Christ and is a prayer intercessor! For three years she has been leading and overseeing Young Life in the small mountain town of Iringa (9 hours away from Dar es Salaam). Edda is a widow who has worked hard to provide for her family and is highly respected in the entire community. Edda has an enormous capacity for relationships with kids and leaders, which serves her well as an area director. Her favorite Bible verse is Psalms 20: 1-4, “May the Lord answer you when you are in distress….May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.”
