Nkosi Sampindi – Vice President International Operations
Vice President-International Operations
Nkosi Sampindi is creative, thoughtful and hard-working. Nkosi first met Jesus when he was a senior in high school during a difficult time in his family’s life. He gave his life to Christ after a friend relentlessly pursued him and shared the gospel with him for over two years until one night he could no longer ignore the voice of God. He describes how he never had a flashing lights conversion but rather gradually fell in love with Jesus as his friend led him through a bible study of the Gospel according to John. “It was the way that my friend pursued me and then patiently took me into scripture that allowed the Lord to be fully revealed to me and thereby igniting a passion for me to relentlessly pursue others with the same Gospel.”
“I got involved with Young Life from 2005/6 when I met Pierre De Jager. Pierre and Rentia De Jager had just moved to Zimbabwe from Malawi where they were part of a group that was praying for Young Life there. He shared with me the vision about Young Life and the way they reached out to lost kids and I was hooked. Ever since that day, I have felt a burden for lost kids, not just in Zimbabwe but for all of Africa. I feel the Lord has given me a unique set of gifts that I’m using in my call and He is also teaching me more and more each and every day.” Young Life Zimbabwe has grown from four leaders to a region of over 300 plus volunteers now in over 11 towns and cities and dozens of villages across Zimbabwe.
Nkosi recently stepped into a new role for the division – Logistics and Operations Director. He is married to Montana, a Young Life team Leader and associate area director in Bulawayo and they have a daughter and a son.
