Ruth Roberts – Liberia

Growing up in a Christian home Jesus was a familiar name to Ruth, but it was not until she went to Young Life that she had a personal encounter with Jesus. When she was in high school, she met Decontee, who was a volunteer leader doing contact work. After months of hesitation, she reluctantly went to Young Life club, and she had an unexpectedly good experience. As she kept going to Young Life, Ruth discovered Christ’s purpose in her life and she wanted to have a personal relationship with Him. From that day on, she continued to seek a deeper understanding of Him. Ruth eventually became a volunteer leader and then she was accepted into the Developing Global Leaders program. This program is an opportunity for selected students to gain a university education while they learn from a mentor and serve as a volunteer leader in a local Young Life club. Now, Ruth is sharing the Gospel of Jesus while she is on staff with Young Life University in Liberia.
