Sharon Intauno – Zimbabwe

Sr. Regional Director

Sharon is passionate, courageous and loves really well. She became a Christian in 2005 after reading the book of Revelation where she was immediately convicted of her sin and her great need for Jesus. As a young orphan girl struggling with bitterness, rejection and anxiety, meeting Jesus gave her a completely new identity. She became confident and more joyous knowing that she was loved and wanted by Jesus and that her needs are taken care of by a caring Father.

She was invited to a Young Life club that was in another neighborhood by a friend. Soon after, at Young Life camp, she got the full picture of how every activity, every relationship and every game in Young Life comes together to form one big master piece – and most importantly, it is all for the great commission. She became sold out on the mission and decided “I would love to do this for others for the rest of my life.” Sharon became a DGL student and graduated in 2014.

Sharon served as an area director of Young Life in Bulawayo North, Zimbabwe, where she ran club in five different neighborhoods. She then moved up to be an associate regional director, leading ministry in four major cities with over 100 clubs. Sharon continued to grow in her leadership abilities and now serves as the regional director for Zimbabwe North. She shares, “mentoring and loving on young people is life-giving for me. I always get excited about women in leadership and seek to help other women grow in their different roles.” Young Life continues to grow in Zimbabwe, and we are so thankful for Sharon’s faithful leadership and commitment to loving kids in her community.
