Alphia is a 16-year-old teen mom and a mother of two kids. When she got pregnant for the first time, her parents kicked her out of the house. She was forced to stay with her boyfriend who mistreated her. During that time, she got pregnant again and her boyfriend abandoned them. “Many nights, I cried and felt hopeless for bringing shame and disgrace to my parents,” said Alphia. But she heard how Young Life leaders cared for teen moms and showed up at a YoungLives club. A YoungLives leader named Wilyne met Alphia and started loving and caring for her. She even helped to reunite Alphia with her parents. Recently, Wilyne took Alphia to YoungLives camp for teen moms. At camp, Alphia had the opportunity to hang out with other teen moms, laugh, play, and experience God’s amazing love. Alphia shared, “I was deeply touched by the club talk and wept bitterly after hearing about the message of sin.” She repented and gave her life to Jesus. She left camp forgiven, hopeful and joyful. Pray for her to remain connected to Jesus, for provision and a bright future for her kids.
