Sikasso Camp
God is the business of seeking the lost and hurting and bringing healing and new life. Young Life is a powerful tool God very often uses to draw others towards Himself. In Sikasso, Mali 154 total kids, comprised of 115 Muslims, came to camp, and more than half the camp accepted Jesus. 99 kids, 71 of which were Muslim, went home different people than when they arrived. Here are two stories from the camp:
Lumusi
“I am very happy to greet all the leaders of Sikasso. My name is Lumusi. I am 18 old years. My leaders call me to the camp of Young Life with my friends. During the camp I accepted Jesus. I will go and tell the story what I saw and heard to my friends and parents during the camp. I am so happy to meet other friends from another zones. I have learned many games and small songs. I am between my friends. My mother only is Christian in our family; so pray for me. May God bless you.”
Oni
“Hello, my name is Oni, I’m 14. I very glad for this camp of Young Life. I tell you that during this time, I’ve known many friends from another places. First I wasn’t Christian, one day I knew Jesus by my sister who tell me about Jesus and in that day I gave my life to Jesus as my savior and my best companion. This is my first time to be in the camp of Young Life and I like it very much. The messages will help me a lot.”
We thank God for this camp and the many people who made the best decisions of their lives, to follow God.
