Augustine Okudel Okiria – Uganda

Augustine was born into a Christian family, but never had a personal relationship with Jesus until he himself went to Young Life camp. He spent his childhood and early teenage years struggling with sin and temptation, and never had a personal experience with Jesus. He was finally persuaded to attend Young Life camp, which was just beginning in Tanzania, and there realized the brokenness of his life and his deep need for Jesus Christ. At the end of camp, Augustine stood up to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior of his life, and has walked with Jesus ever since. In 2003, Augustine began leader training with Young Life. In 2006, he joined Young Life staff and for the past 10 years has watched Young Life impact not only the lives of young people, but also his own life. He now serves as Regional Director in Southern Uganda. He is so thankful for his passionate leaders who continue to pursue kids, and for the Lord who continues to draw kids to Himself through Young Life ministry. We are so thankful for the dedicated, obedient servant of Christ that Augustine is.
